November 27, 1930: The First Nighter's First Debut

November 27, 1930: This day marked the debut of  First Nighter . The show's introduction said it was broadcasting from "the little theater off Times Square." The show came from Chicago, then was broadcast from Hollywood for 23 years with dramas and comedies as its main features. The First Nighter was a long-running radio anthology comedy-drama series. It was broadcast from 1930 to 1953. The host was Mr. First Nighter (Charles P. Hughes, Macdonald Carey, Bret Morrison, Marvin Miller, Don Briggs, and Rye Billsbury). The atmosphere of a Broadway opening was recreated for the opening night. The drama was a weekly program. Romantic comedies became the theme of the drama. Main roles were played by the teams of Don Ameche and June Meredith (1930-36), Ameche and Betty Lou Gerson (1935-36), Les Tremayne and Barbara Luddy (1936-43), and Olan Soule and Luddy (1943 and after). November 26, 1945: Bride and Groom airs on NBC Blue for the First Time

  November 26, 1945: Bride and Groom aired on the NBC Blue network for the first time. Before being transmitted in 1950, approximately one thousand newly married couples were interviewed for the show. John Nelson hosted this real radio talk show,  Bride and Groom  , which featured newly wedded couples and interviewed them about their love lives and specifics of their relationship.

November 24, 1937: NBC's live broadcast of Glenn Miller Orchestra's performance in Raymor Ballroom, Boston

November 24, 1937: NBC broadcast the Music of Raymon Ballroom in Boston coast-to-coast. Glenn Miller and his orchestra performed on the program as special guests. The special performers during the broadcast were Glenn Miller and his Orchestra . Miller, a jazz musician, was among the most popular bandleaders during the time. He was also one of the best-selling artists from 1939 to 1943. During WWII, he mysteriously disappeared while traveling to France over the English Channel. Today, the  Glenn Miller and his Orchestra  is considered to be one of the world's greatest.
