August 16, 1939: Having being heard for the last time on NBC, Arch Oboler brought back to life Lights Out- radio's "ultimate horror show". The show's most familiar trademark, "Lights out, everybody!", guaranteed to put one under the covers on a dark night was, followed by 12 chimes of a clock.
When the show was revived on 1942, it was aired during prime time, instead of its usual late night schedule. It was heard on CBS and lasted for a year.

In the early 1970's a local radio station began to replay Lights Out on Saturday nights. It was my introduction to OTR and I never missed an episode.
