Today in Old Radio History...
Mighty glad... Howdeee! And was the hat a $1.98 price tag from Ben Franklin 5 and dime in Nashville?
Sarah Cannon. A truly lovely lady. I read a short piece about her and she was as sweet as she was intelligent. We miss her real family friendly entertainment so much today!Well Howdee. I'm so proud to be here with you." Lordie my old folks love Minnie Pearl.
WSM 650 AM was the best wasn't it? Well, I loved her as much as Hank Williams, Earnest Tubb, Little Jimmy Dickins, Hank Snow, and all those ole' Opry folks. Our old tube radio got a good workout every Saturday night. WSM was the 50-,000 watt station heard all over the eastern part of the country, and when the inosphere was right they were heard all over the world. And lets not forget XERF in Dell Reo, Texas.
